KAREN MITCHELL is a noted Hair Extension Expert and Owner of the True Indian Hair Franchise under the Umbrella True Hair Company.  The Jamaican born entrepreneur is a license cosmetologist who has spent over a decade in the hair care industry.  Her journey in the hair industry began in 2004 when she noticed a lack of diversity in ownership roles. Driven by her passion for hair and beauty, Karen embarked on a mission to provide high-quality extensions for career women.

Under Mitchell’s leadership, True Hair Company has emerged as a leader in the industry, earning accolades from Essence and Cosmopolitan Magazines. The brand has also been featured in prominent publications like InStyle, Vogue, and Elle, as well as on various primetime TV shows. True Hair Company has successfully continued to grow in the market, reaching a company high of 8 figures in 2023.

With celebrities like Rihanna, Cardi B, and Taraji P. Henson among its clientele, True Hair Company has garnered widespread acclaim. Beyond business success, Mitchell has also established True Strength, a non-profit offering complimentary wigs and makeovers to women battling hair loss.

In response to increasing demand, True Hair Company has expanded from its flagship Brooklyn boutique to over a 3,000 sq ft midtown Manhattan flagship store.
